Jess' Big Day Out: 2017 Golden Shears

On Monday 20th March, after months of drawing, drafting, cutting and making Jessica Robinson took to the catwalk to accompany her entry in the 2017 Golden Shears Award.

Held at the prestigious Merchant Taylors Hall in Threadneedle Street, London, the 40 year old competition is held bi-annually and celebrates up and coming Bespoke Tailoring. Contestants enter a complete outfit and are marked on their design, cutting and Tailoring Skills. Hundreds enter but just 25 get through to the finals of which Jess was lucky (and let's not forget skilled ;o) enough to be included. As well as being judged technically by the panel, the night was illuminated by guest judges including David Gandy & Jodie Kidd

Jess' entry was a three piece suit in a Holland & Sherry Wool & Linen mix coupled with a contrasting fuchsia waistcoat. The jacket, a long, double breasted affair with a prominent check (top technical marks for cutting and matching those!) was coupled with an exuberant lining which also double up as a pocket square and bow tie.

A good time was had by all as a little corner of Stratford Upon Avon headed toward Stratford, London for the day.
